Poople.world collects minimal data. Specifically:

Data Stored Locally

• Game progress — Your current route, steps, and completion time for the daily puzzle are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you submit a leaderboard entry.
• Leaderboard name — If you choose to enter a name for the leaderboard, it is stored locally and sent to our server only when you complete the daily puzzle without using hints.
• Theme preference — Your light/dark mode choice is stored locally in localStorage.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect email addresses, passwords, personal identifiers, or any other personal information.

2. How We Use Information

The limited data we handle is used solely to:

• Display your game progress when you return to the site.
• Populate the leaderboard with your name, step count, and completion time.
• Remember your theme preference across visits.

No Advertising or Profiling

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or analytics beyond operating the game. Third-party ad networks (profitableratecpmnetwork) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Ahrefs) are present on the site; these are governed by their own privacy policies and may use cookies or similar tracking as described below.

3. Cookies and Tracking

Poople.world uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Analytics — Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) collects anonymized usage data such as page views, session duration, and device type to help us understand how the site is used and improve the experience. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
• Ahrefs Analytics — Ahrefs provides privacy-focused analytics that do not use cookies and do not track personally identifiable information. See Ahrefs Privacy Policy.
• Advertising — profitableratecpmnetwork may serve ads and use cookies for ad delivery and measurement. Third-party advertisers may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve personalized ads and measure ad performance. On first visit we show a cookie banner: choosing Accept loads analytics and ad scripts; choosing Decline keeps those non-essential scripts off. You can opt out of interest-based advertising via YourAdChoices.
• Cloudflare — Cloudflare's infrastructure may set cookies for security (bot protection, DDoS mitigation) and performance (caching). See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

Poople.world is hosted on Cloudflare, which may log standard HTTP request data (IP address, browser user-agent, request timestamps) as part of their infrastructure. Cloudflare's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy. We do not control Cloudflare's data processing and do not have access to their logs.

Other Third-Party Services

In addition to Cloudflare hosting, Poople.world uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) for anonymized traffic analysis, Ahrefs Analytics for privacy-friendly insights, and profitableratecpmnetwork for ad delivery. Each of these services may collect data as described in their respective privacy policies. We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

• Local storage data — Persists until you manually clear your browser data or we release an update that changes the storage format. You can clear it anytime through your browser's settings.
• Leaderboard entries — Stored on our Cloudflare KV backend and displayed on the site until the daily puzzle resets (every 24 hours at 08:00 UTC). Older entries may be retained for up to 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — View any data we hold about you (which is essentially just your leaderboard name and game results visible on the site).
• Deletion — Clear your local data at any time via your browser settings. To remove a leaderboard entry, contact us through our About page.
• Data portability — Since all your local data is stored in your browser's localStorage, you can access it through your browser's developer tools.

7. Children's Privacy

Poople.world is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect email addresses, accounts, or personal identifiers, there is no risk of collecting personally identifiable information from any user, regardless of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@poople.world.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
